Dr. Arash Shamsian, MD, MHA
Founder & CEO, Golden Gate Hospice Care (Partner Provider)
Dr. Arash Shamsian, MD, MHA, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Gate Hospice Care in Van Nuys — WeCareLA's first partner hospice provider. A hospice and palliative medicine physician, he also serves as a hospice physician for the County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services. Dr. Shamsian is known for equity-driven, culturally responsive end-of-life care — pioneering the integration of end-of-life doulas to support socially isolated patients and partnering with organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association and the AIDS Foundation. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern California, and completed residency training in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at USC / Los Angeles General Medical Center. In 2026 he was nominated for the LA Times Studios Executive Leadership Awards in the CEO – Small Business category.

Their family-owned, locally operated agency delivers compassionate, non-medical in-home care, pairing families with professionally trained, bonded, and insured caregivers. From companionship and personal care to respite care and memory support, their team helps older adults and individuals with disabilities live safely and comfortably at home — with flexible scheduling and no long-term contracts.
